    SEOUL, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- South Korean Army Wednesday announced that an army missile defense command will be set up on Thursday as an effort against threats from missiles and long-range artillery.

    "The command will be in charge of leading South Korea's artillery powers, including multiple-launch rocket systems and ground-to-ground missiles, known as the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS)," said a statement by the army.

    According to South Korea's Yonhap News Agency, the command will be based in the central part of the country and is expected to upgrade South Korea's anti-artillery capabilities. A two-star general will take charge of the command. Enditem
