North Korean Human Rights Seminar co-held by CNPK & OhmyNews
- North Korean Human Rights from a fresh Angle-
CNPK and OhmyNews on North Korean Human Rights

North Korean Human Rights today is regarded as a “hot potato” in the Republic of Korea as well as over the world. It is expected to be a sensation again in the near future as the United Nations General Assembly will debate on whether to adopt the resolutions criticizing North Korean human rights in the end of November this year and “The 2nd Human Rights Conference” will be held in Seoul by the Freedom House of the United States on December 10, 2005. However, in spite of the intensive interests in the North Korean human rights domestically and internationally, North Korean Human Rights have become a politicized issue without precise fact-findings or reasonable solutions.
Therefore the situation requires to review critically the previous discussions related to the circumstances of North Korean human rights and its solutions, and also to seek objective recognitions, policy direction for efficient improvements and cooperative plans domestically and internationally. The North Korean Human Right Seminar that CNPK organizes is designed to revitalize such issues and to explore desirable solutions.
